Research has shown that adults and senior people have improved skill in tracking peripheral movement. This translates to being able to comprehend the total image of events unfolding around them better – tracking movement, objects and people around them thereby providing the potential to perform better in some situations.
Adults and senior students receive the same training as younger people, although naturally the instructor will not demand the same level of endurance. Everyone's training is with oneself - the instructor only expects the best that you can achieve; there is no competition with anyone else in the lesson. You can adjust your training to suit your own stamina and abilities, but the harder you train the more you will benefit.
Taekwondo training for adults become more and more important to maintaining good health. It is no secret that when you train regularly you boost your energy levels, get better conditioned, lose weight, increase cardiovascular endurance and may even live longer. Each Taekwondo lesson is a new experience offering a variety of stretching, conditioning drills, patterns, defensive manoeuvres, footwork, strikes, blocks and dynamic kicks.
